ABOUT FAKE NOSTALGIA

Fake Nostalgia is a clothing project from Denmark, built around the nostalgia for something that never existed.

Growing up in a small town in Jutland, we looked beyond our surroundings for inspiration — through old games, films, military clothing, second-hand stores, forgotten graphics and the internet.

We have always been drawn to clothes that feel lived in. Garments with history, imperfections and signs of use. Instead of chasing polished or perfect fashion, we want to make clothing that feels found — like something you could have discovered buried in an old storage room, a surplus depot or the back of a second-hand shop.

Our collections combine reclaimed garments, military surplus, screen printing and new production, with each piece becoming part of the Fake Nostalgia world.

The world itself is set in a future where much of Denmark has been abandoned. Beneath the surface, communities survive in underground shelters, recovering materials and garments from what remains above.

But the world is fictional. The clothes are real.

Everything starts in our small workspace in Denmark, where we print, modify, photograph and prepare each piece ourselves.

We don't want Fake Nostalgia to feel like a finished world with every detail explained. We want you to discover it.

Welcome to the network.
